Who provides the service
PermitLane is provided by SPAKLABS AI INC. Contact hello@permitlane.ca for support, privacy requests and account recovery. Support is best effort on Alberta business days, with no guaranteed response time.
What PermitLane does
PermitLane organizes permit requirements, responsibilities, dates, document records and recorded outcomes. It presents the next action from the project’s recorded state.
Your company is responsible for authorized access, accurate records, technical work, professional advice where needed, municipal accounts, applications, fees and communication with the authority.
PermitLane does not submit applications, expedite municipal review or guarantee completeness, acceptance, timing, approval or inspection results. Record an external event only when it has actually occurred.
Use only company access and information you are authorized to use. Do not share account credentials, bypass access controls or use a homeowner link as access to the full project.
Published playbooks cover the municipalities and project types listed in the project coverage section at permitlane.ca/#coverage when you buy, within each playbook’s stated scope; coverage expands only when additional playbooks are published. Project AI processing is available for permit applicability only. The processing notice at the project action identifies the data sent and the model provider. Payment does not guarantee an AI result or municipal approval.
PermitLane takes an encrypted backup of company records and accepted files every night and keeps the seven most recent copies outside the application host. Keep your original files and export your records regularly: a backup is a recovery aid, and recovery of lost customer data is not guaranteed.
Price and monthly renewal
Starter is CAD 59 per company per month, plus applicable tax shown before payment. It renews monthly until cancelled. There is no setup fee, annual commitment, required assisted service or automatic overage charge. Companies can register without operator admission. Paid subscriptions require a Canadian billing address.
If PermitLane offers the designated-company price to your company, it is CAD 1 per month until cancellation, including applicable tax, with no automatic return to CAD 59. The exact qualified total must be shown before payment. The offer does not transfer to another company, and a new subscription after cancellation is not automatically eligible.
Builder is CAD 4,800 per company per year for Builder 10, CAD 12,000 for Builder 25 and CAD 24,000 for Builder 50, plus applicable tax shown before payment. Builder is billed annually only: the full amount is charged at purchase and at each yearly renewal until cancelled. CAD 400, CAD 1,000 and CAD 2,000 per month are equivalents for comparison, not a monthly payment option; monthly Builder billing is not offered. Builder has no separate trial. A Canadian billing address is required, as it is for Starter.
The first three Builder companies may be offered 50% off their first annual payment, in exchange for being a named reference and taking part in structured feedback. It applies once, to the first annual payment only, and ends at the first renewal: a Builder 10 company paying CAD 2,400 in its first year renews at CAD 4,800, Builder 25 at CAD 12,000 and Builder 50 at CAD 24,000, plus applicable tax. It is never a custom price and never permanent.
Choosing a paid subscription
Your verified company Owner must explicitly choose the offered subscription and accept its released terms and privacy notice before Stripe-hosted checkout. A trial requires no card and never converts automatically. Payment starts a separate paid term; unused trial days provide no credit or proration. Your company, records and capacity usage remain unchanged. A consumed trial never restarts.
Enter legal billing details and card information only on the hosted payment page. Returning to PermitLane does not confirm payment. Paid access begins only after PermitLane verifies the payment and subscription. If confirmation is delayed, check the existing billing status rather than creating another subscription.
Builder 10, Builder 25 and Builder 50 are bought in Billing without contacting PermitLane: your verified company Owner answers the sizing step’s two questions, the server names the smallest standard size that fits the company’s current members and active projects, and accepting these terms and the privacy notice hands off to the same Stripe-hosted checkout Starter uses. There is no application, no quotation and no custom price. Builder is billed annually only, and the 14-day full refund of a first payment described below applies to a Builder purchase as it does to Starter. Where a founding code is offered, it takes 50% off the first annual payment only and ends at the first renewal, which is charged at the full yearly price. Moving to a larger size takes effect on payment, with the payment provider’s proration. Moving to a smaller size takes effect at the next renewal, and is refused with the reason when the company’s current active members or active projects would not fit the smaller size.
Included capacity
Starter includes three active members, five active projects, 50 retained projects and 5 GiB of retained files. Builder 10 includes 10 active members, 20 active projects, 200 retained projects and 50 GiB. Builder 25 includes 25 active members, 50 active projects, 500 retained projects and 150 GiB. Builder 50 includes 50 active members, 100 active projects, 1,000 retained projects and 300 GiB. In every size, unexpired invitations reserve seats, draft and paused projects count as active, closed and cancelled projects count as retained, and files have a 10 MiB limit per file with retained revisions and pending or quarantined uploads counting towards retained storage.
When qualified model-assisted work is available, it is limited to 100 dispatched attempts per company per UTC month, ten per UTC day and USD 5 per UTC month. Retries and uncertain outcomes count. These limits do not guarantee successful results. The server may stop new work when a company or operating-capacity limit is reached; there are no paid overages.
At a limit, PermitLane blocks the operation needing more capacity. Authorized reading, export, recovery and safe access revocation remain available within the applicable access period. Capacity does not authorize automatic deletion or an invented permit answer.
Cancelling renewal
The Owner can stop future renewal through Billing and subscription management. Cancellation preserves access through the verified paid-through instant shown in the account. Reversing cancellation before expiry resumes the same subscription; do not create a duplicate. Routine mid-month proration, credits and plan switching are not included.
For a Builder subscription, cancellation stops the next yearly renewal and preserves access through the verified paid-through instant shown in the account. No routine partial-year proration or credit is promised, and a Builder subscription is not switched to Starter automatically.
Refunds
The authorized Owner may request a full refund of the first payment on a subscription — monthly or annual, Starter or Builder — within 14 days of its confirmed UTC instant by contacting hello@permitlane.ca. A qualifying request receives the refund after requester and payment verification. Later duplicate, error or service-failure refund requests receive individual review. Applicable statutory rights take precedence. A full refund ends paid writes and future renewal; it does not restart the trial.
Payment problems and disputes
An initial payment must be confirmed before paid activation. After a failed renewal, new resources, provider-cost work and public homeowner links stop at the last verified paid-through instant. Existing manual work remains available for 72 hours, then only authorized read, export, recovery and safe revocation remain during the access window.
A verified dispute suspends new paid work and public homeowner links while reviewed. Recovery and export remain subject to company authority. An unresolved dispute holds deletion. Uncertain payment information never extends the last verified paid term, and a subscription update cannot silently clear a preservation hold.
Financial records and company deletion
SPAKLABS AI INC. retains the minimum financial records needed to support its transactions: billing identity and address, accepted offer and policy versions, invoices and receipts, service periods, amounts and taxes, payment references, and relevant refund or dispute outcomes. The ordinary minimum is six years after the end of SPAKLABS’ last relevant fiscal period. Filing, adjustment, appeal or preservation requirements may require longer retention. Records are reviewed when their retention period ends; deletion depends on whether their purpose and applicable holds have ended.
The financial-retention period does not extend the retention of project content or the trial’s 24-month eligibility record. Project names, site addresses, drawings and uploaded evidence must not enter financial custody unless specific evidence is required for an actual dispute, with a recorded purpose and review date.
When paid access ends
Authorized reading, export, recovery and safe revocation remain available for 60 days after the verified paid-through instant for cancellation or failed renewal, or after the verified full-refund or dispute cutoff. The 72-hour manual-work grace does not extend this window. Public homeowner links stop at the original cutoff. A dispute hold prevents deletion without restoring writes.
Transactional notices are scheduled at the cutoff and 30 and 53 days later. A failed, missing or uncertain delivery requires review before deletion. Normal access closes after 60 days, followed by a seven-day disposition review; silence alone never authorizes deletion.
Export and deletion review
Before company deletion, PermitLane must resolve notice delivery and preservation holds, and verify a complete export package with the authorized customer’s acknowledgement, or the customer’s explicit verified request declining export and requesting deletion. A prepared download, incomplete package or silence is insufficient. A hold suspends deletion without restoring normal product writes.
Corrections add records instead of rewriting earlier submission, review, inspection or activity history. Accepted evidence has no automatic age-based deletion during entitled use. Reviewed company deletion is a separate maintenance operation and must preserve identities or records still required by another retained company.
Company deletion requires completed export or an explicit verified decision declining export, notice review, the seven-day review period and resolved preservation holds. Before deleting paid-company operational data, SPAKLABS AI INC. must verify that the necessary financial records are complete and held in restricted Canadian custody under its control. Deleting PermitLane records does not confirm deletion of copies held by providers.
Deletion of paid-company data is not yet available. You can contact hello@permitlane.ca to request an export or retention review. Continued retention must have a recorded purpose and review date.
What changed in version 6
Version 6 corrects one paragraph of version 5 — PermitLane now takes an encrypted backup of company records and accepted files every night and keeps the seven most recent copies outside the application host, where version 5 said recurring backups were not yet available; keeping your original files and exporting your records regularly is still asked of you, because a backup is a recovery aid and recovery of lost customer data is not guaranteed — and changes nothing else: every price, capacity, model allowance, refund window, cancellation rule and founding-code term, the self-service Builder purchase paragraph version 4 corrected and the coverage sentence version 5 corrected are carried over unchanged, and versions 1 to 5 stay published at their own paths with every acceptance recorded against them.
